Conservation of a 19th c. Heirloom Bible

When this bible came in, the cover was detached, the sewing was broken, and the pages were torn and creased. Family photographs were falling out of the album pages. After consulting with the family we decided to go ahead with a full treatment which included paper repair, resewing, cleaning, reconstructing the album pages to re mount the photos and finally being rebound in the original cover.

Rebinding a 20th c. Bible

Many modern bibles are bound in imitation leather covers, this can deteriorate rapidly and make the bible unusable. This bible was given a new flexible cover and a gold foil stamped title.

Repair of an 18th c. Map

This Map had been removed from a larger atlas at some point. It had tattered edges and a previous repair that was causing distortion of the paper. The map was washed to remove the previous repair. The folds were reinforced and all tears mended.
